Self-adhesive, nail or screw – which fastening?
The fastening type determines durability more than the material. The simple formula: frequency of use and leg material determine the choice.
Self-adhesive: quick and traceless
The adhesive solution is installed in seconds, works on wood, plastic and metal and leaves no holes when removed – ideal for rental furniture, tables, shelves and anything that is rarely moved. A clean, grease-free surface is a prerequisite.
Nail: the classic for solid wood
The nail-on glide sits mechanically firm and is quickly hammered in – but only solid wood legs hold the nail permanently. Hollow profiles, thin or crack-prone legs are excluded.
Screw: the strongest connection
Pre-drill, screw in, done: The screw connection withstands the highest shear forces and can be reused as often as desired when replacing glides. First choice for chairs in daily continuous use.

- Rarely moved + any leg → self-adhesive.
- Moved daily + solid wood → Nail or screw.
- Moved daily + hollow profile/metal → quality self-adhesive, or cap solution.
- Contract/rental furniture, no drilling desired → push-on or adhesive.
